Shahla is a grassroots activist, filmmaker, and organizer with a passion
for challenging the status quo. With years of experience in nonprofit
management, advocacy, and movement-building, she currently runs two
social enterprises in Istanbul focusing on migrant and gender justice
especially in solidarity with displaced communities. Shahla also serves
on the board of Safe Passage Fund and participates in other grantmaking
panels. When she isn’t strategizing her next move in the fight for
justice, she’s crafting creative solutions that disrupt power
structures—with a sense of humor and a radical edge. In her spare
moments, she is working on her documentary film and writing a fiction
book.
