Tipping Point UK is a movement organisation that supports people from all communities and backgrounds to use their power and take bold and regular action together to win change. I am the co-director for the care and repair work.

  • Payment: I work part time, 1 day a week at the moment.
  • Potential conflicts of interest: Tipping Point UK may become interested in joining LEAP.

Organising for change is a collective that builds the capacity of those working for a co-created, equitable society which respects and makes space for multiple cultures and is rooted in the principles of environmental, racial and social justice. I co-direct the organisation and facilitate spaces for activists and movement organisations around organising, strategy, anti-oppression, etc.

  • Payment: I work as a freelancer with Organising for change, so we are paid based on projects

Guerrilla Foundation supports activists and social movements in Europe. I am part of the advisory group of the foundation which is responsible for grant making decisions. In that role, I help to review applications for funding for organisations and collectives across Europe.

  • Payment: I am paid for the hours I spend reviewing applications and attending board meetings.
  • Potential conflicts of interest: I expect some of the grantees of the foundation want to be part of LEAP. I may be biased towards groups I have already seen in action via Guerilla.

Justice Together Initiative supports groups and organisations working on migrant and racial justice in the UK. I am part of the advisory group of this initiative which is responsible for the strategic direction of the fund, I am also part of an anti-oppression working group responsible for making sure the work achieves its aims. In this role, I am not responsible for reviewing applications but I get to know of groups working in our social movements.

  • Payment: I am paid for the hours I spend reviewing applications and attending board meetings.
  • Potential conflicts of interest: I don’t expect many of these groups wanting to join LEAP, but they might. If they do, I may be biased towards them.

Wretched of the Earth is a grassroots collective for Indigenous, black, brown and diaspora groups and individuals demanding climate justice and acting in solidarity with our communities, both here in the UK and in Global South.

  • Payment: I do this work on volunteer basis.
  • Potential conflicts of interest: Members of the group and the group itself may become interested in joining LEAP.

London Latinxs is a grassroots intersectional feminist group of community organisers and activists, comprised of Latin Americans. We are a network to share ideas and plan direct actions around the issues that face the Latin American community in London and throughout the UK.

  • Payment: I do this work on volunteer basis.
  • Potential conflicts of interest: Members of the group and the group itself may become interested in joining LEAP.

Who we are

We believe that philanthropy must not reproduce the injustices in society in its own structures, processes, and strategies. Transformative philanthropy must put decision-making power in the hands of those doing the work. It must be a supportive, nurturing platform, not a straightjacket.
